Music and Worship Ministry

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. - Colossians 3:16

The purpose of the Trinity Baptist Church Music and Worship Ministry is to live out this exhortation from Colossians using our God-given musical talents and gifts. The Word of God is the focus of the Music Ministry here at Trinity. God's Word directs, empowers, and strengthens all that we do musically in worship, rehearsals, presentations, and in fellowship.

If you desire to see God's Word move through His people by using your God-given musical gifts, please join us as we serve to live out this scripture at Trinity. We have numerous opportunities for you in the Trinity Baptist Church Music and Worship Ministry . . . Come join us!

Preschool and Children's Choirs

Meets on Wednesday nights (August-May) at 6:00 pm.
For 4 year olds to 6th grade. The children's choirs' curriculum is developed to build cognitive building blocks of Music Education throughout the year and then to develop those skills each year as they progress with their age group. Choir is also a wonderful place for your children to learn how to worship God through music. They sing in church several times during the year and are an inspiring addition to our services as they lead us in worship through scripture and music.

NewSong Youth Choir

Meets on Sunday nights (August-May) at 5pm in the Choir Room.
NewSong is the Student Choir (grades 7-12) of Trinity Baptist Church and is involved in worship leadership, service to the community, fellowship, and an annual mission tour. To check out our blog page from last year's tour, click

Sanctuary Choir

Meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm in the Choir Room.
Our Sanctuary choir is open to college students and adults who desire to worship God through their music and lead others to do the same. The Sanctuary Choir sings a variety of music from gospel songs, hymn arrangements, classic anthems, and contemporary anthems. We participate in fellowships, special music projects and regularly lead in Sunday morning worship services.

Handbell Choir

For college students and adults, our Handbell Choir rehearses weekly with players from a wide range of abilities and musical experience and is actively involved in our worship services during the year.

Orchestra

For high school, college, and adults, the orchestra invites players who come with a wide range of abilities and experience. The instrumentalists are often invited to play during worship services. In addition, the group prepares select pieces to play on their own. Players must have achieved a comfortable level of playing proficiency (read music, play in tune). Smaller ensemble groups are often called on to play for services or special events.

Trinity Choral Scholarship Program

The Trinity Choral Scholarship Program offers four $1500 ($750 per semester) scholarship positions to area college students for the academic year. The positions allow students the experience of singing with an accomplished church choir, hopefully fostering a lifelong involvement with church music. Choral Scholars are encouraged to be active in the college ministry of the church, enjoying the support of a "home away from home" church family.

Requirements:
Choral Scholars must be actively enrolled in a degree program at an area college or university. Participation requires full membership in the Sanctuary Choir of Trinity Baptist Church which includes a weekly rehearsal on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm and Sunday morning worship services from 8:15 am-12:00 noon. Also included are the fall retreat, Christmas choral presentation, and spring choral presentation.
